After I connecting a new wire (not sure what size but pretty thick from ACE at 30cts a feet) , I am getting the same voltage reading (12.5V) at both the fuse block and at the battery terminal.
The original after 36 years must be getting tired

Zero voltage drop after new wire to fuse block
Before connecting a thick wire to the fuse block from the batter + terminal, I was getting a .3 volt (12.2V) drop when measuring voltage at the fuse block compared to the battery terminal
After I connecting a new wire (not sure what size but pretty thick from ACE at 30cts a feet) , I am getting the same voltage reading (12.5V) at both the fuse block and at the battery terminal.
