sequential tail lights

Post by takotruckin »

me and a friend are trying to figure out how to wire up sequential tail lights for my car (mustang). i know the old cougars used an electric motor and a point setup to trigger the lights, but we want something a little simpler, and electronic, with no moving parts. any ideas here?

Nah. This is a fairly challenging project.

Post pics of what you wind up with.

Caddys used them in the 90s on one of their cars. I remember them on a Northstar equipped Caddy, but I can't remember the model (CRS!) . That may narrow it down a bit

Caddy had sequential LED "turn signals" in the spoiler on an STS, I saw one on the way home today. I think it was also the CHMSL.

ive seen that david, uses a "dynamite stick". im not even sure if you can buy those anymore, plus, i'd much rather make my own kit. there are kits available for $80+, but im not prepared to spend 80 bucks on $20 worth of parts

probably engineer it. if you check out the link i posted, that is the plans someone on an impala forum came up with.. i'll likely do it that way unless someone here comes up with a better idea.
