This was the main tool for removing the heater channel.

With a pair of chain hoists I was able to lift the body high enough to get sawhorses under it.

The B pillar needs to be ground some more. Right now the door frame is a half inch taller than the other side. I think I can grind enough to get them even but I worry about going too far. Is a half inch difference too much?

This corner had a continuous weld that I had to grind before I could get the channel out.

I put the bar in before lifting the body.

I'm not sure what to do about the front. I had to grind off a continuous weld in the corner before I could get the old chanel out. Now I've got a big hole to fill in.

Kevin, I had to repair the front of mine also. I just used a piece of left over metal, bent it to the og shape. I'll post a pic of it later tonight.crvc wrote:http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j47/k ... 2849-1.jpg

Also, after I tacked in my channel, I installed the door and double checked the fit (before i completely welded in the channel). I did have to break a tack on the "B" post and give it a nudge for a good looking fit.

That's a good idea. I planned to put the body onto the frame to check whether the holes will match up with the heater channel nuts but I'll attach the door as well. Since I'm replacing the luggage shelf I've got lots of metal from the old shelf that I can use to patch holes like the one up front.
