Need help for best choise...

Hello to every beetle lover here
I am Antony from Greece and have some Questions that hope get answers and suggestions...

First of all i will tell you about my car... ( i restore it)
It is a 61 beetle convertible with 1800cc dual port + 2 dellorto carbs..
i want it for daily drive but time to time can get more wild
also have front and rear disk brakes...


i have bought and place in the rear a pair of adjustable spring plates...

in the front i have a pair of droped spindles and an adjustable axle..

i dont want to low my car very much.. just a few inches so i will not use the axle to lower it.. just only the droped spindles that are if i can remember 2 inch lower...

i have also place a REINFORCED FRONT STABILIZER,





and in the rear (not yet placed as i wait to place the body shell and engine to adjust it right) have bought this SWING AXLE REAR SWAY BAR 3/4 INCH

questions :

1) in what position should the puma axle be placed to have the normal high ??? (as i told i will lower my car just only for droped spindles.. puma axle is a benefit in future if i want more lower)


2) i have bought 2 pairs of this shock absorbers...

but i am not sure if that should use them.... what is your opinion?? (front and rear)

Here is some feedback on your questions:

1. The coilover shocks may not be the best choice. I would recommend Koni "RED" Adjustable shocks front and rear.

2. Puma adjusters can be set up for "ALL DOWN", "ALL UP" or "UP & DOWN" adjustment. You want to make sure your beam is set up in the "UP & DOWN" adjustment manner.

i write a letter to the cip1 that i bought the axle to inform me what kind of puma do i have....

but until i get an answer is any method to see by my self what puma do i have??







one more question.... if one puma axle is made for lower then i should place the adjusters on top to have stock height??

if it is made for both low/up then should place them in the middle.. right??

one more question my friend... do you have any link about koni red adjustable??

i search in most on line stores (german , english and american) and didnt find any koni that fit my model and be adjustable....

there are only for ball joint axles... front...

rear absorbers koni adjustables couldnt find...

if you know to tell me will be nice..

The place is Don's Sport Vehicle Sales and they had good service. Usually the Koni shock's are special order and take around 6-8 weeks to receive.

i decide to go for a koni red adjustable....

because i think tha the maximum that i will use puma axle to drop my car is 2cm.. will i need a special absorber front... or the standar one in hight will not have problem...??

If you are going to use the Puma's to just "tweak" the ride then the standard Koni Red's will do fine.
