For road racing, autocrossing, or just taking that curve in style. Oh yea, and stopping!

Thanks.
Somebody just GAVE me some 14" mini-lites!

Was thinking of putting some slicks on them and going to the local autocross...
If they'll fit, that is....

Clatter, I confess ignorance about mini-lites, but I think you'll have issues. I saw barely 1/8" clearance between the lower ball joints and 15/5.5" Fuchs on CB 2 1/2" drop-spindles I tried on my Ghia beam, and the lower ball joints were the new ones without the grease fitting. Someone else may be able to tell you about caliper clearance.

Yeah, I tried them on, and no luck...
It would be a sweet combo, but it all makes sense why it won't work.
Maybe I could find a set of Jatechs or something that had a smaller drop.. :(

Make your own dropped spindles.
Take a drum spindle and cut off the stub axle. Machine the face flat.
Next take a disc spindle and cut the tie rod arm and the two ball joint knobs off. Chuck that up in the lathe and face the backside flat. Marry them up and weld. Go with a 1 3/4 - 2" drop.
