Wiring harness

Post by cutter8174 »

I am wondering if anyone has used the wiring harness off of Ebay listed as ez wiring harness? They list them as a 21 circuit. Are these worth the money or just junk to replace on a 72 super?

Those look like "universal" harnesses. You'll have a really tough time
adapting one to a VW.

How about one like:

which should be an exact replacement.

Do you really need a whole new harness?
It can be a lot of work and there are pitfalls for the unwary.

I've tried the cheapo harness.. the plastic jackets were failing within just a few years (they'd crack in the cold)

There are a few vw specific harnesses that are quick installs.

OR like speedy says.. it's probably easier to repair yours..

Many times the issues are from bad splices and corroded ends.

Other issue with them is that the main power wire will burn and cause issues - a new harness will not fix this common occurance.

Please post to this and we'll help you.

The reason i was asking is because whats on there now is just all hacked up. the previous owners had no clue on wiring. To the point that they used some thing that are used for house wiring.
