we use this building insulation. it is thin and has a serious R value. we also used it behind the stainless steel engine compartment panels. i dont know if it is the best but it is an ideal. we like it and we get straps for free when my brother in law's company builds a new metal building. http://www.steel-building-insulation.co ... prodex.jpg

Caslor.

I normally use a high end undercoating "3M Body Shutz" In USD it costs about $100 to do a car.. sprays on.

OR Dynomat seem to be the preferred material.

My preference is to stay away from adhesive products as they commonly trap water.

There was a thread here a year ago where I mentioned the ceramic microsphere additives for paint that just suck up sound and heat. This actually works pretty well.
They say it costs about $11 for enough material to treat one gallon of just about any paint type. You can roll it on (recommended) or use a rotary sparayer with a large fan nozzle or brush it on. They say layers of it increase the attenuation. I will be trying this inside of doors, roof and panels later this year.

You can make the concentration higher per gallon ...but you have to be careful so that you have enough liquid to properly leave the microspheres coated and encapsulated once everything is dry. Ray
