Is epoxy primer and your paint application enough to put under your wheel wells and fenders.

You'd also want some enamel (single stage) paint..

The material should be about as thick as egg shells when totally done. Chips frequently are from thick brittle paint.

I commonly will use a rust encapsulant under the wheel wells... I like to do mine black to make them easy to touch up.

I had por 15 under the wheel arc but i now see where i have some spots lifting so i am going to sandblast it out and start again this time with the epoxy primer.

POR etc should adhere under the wheel wells.

How did you prep the steel?

Well what i did was to use a wire wheel in my drill to first remove all old paint then i used osphor to etch and also to provide an antirust protection the por15 was then placed over the bear metal.

POR is supposed to have some flash rust...

Normally you remove all paint.. then shoot some salt water on it to let it flash rust.

This little fact is news to me. Well my mind is made up i will be removing the por15 it didn't bond well to the metal, but i think the epoxy primer will be better.

ON show cars we use etching primer.. sealer.. then single stage enamel...

On driver cars a rust encapsulant.

Adhesion is mostly prep.
