IDED my gun *Sharpe 775*

Post by fusername »

ok, so all I know it is a devilbiss, as that is stamped on it. I also know it is old, and I got agood deal on it because it was full of several years dry paint. I finnaly think I have cleaned the whole thing, and a rebuild kit would be peachy. if not, atleast a manual would be nice. the paint cup is underneath it, and i really doubt its aHVLP, those are too expensive for me to get for free, right?
the devilbiss website was no fun

looks kinda like taht but older, and with what i think is a pressure guage on the bottom near the inlet

give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

Or pic of the actual gun? I have someone to ask. If no numbers or identifying mark, a pic will really help.

The older the paint gun, the fewer models and variations there will be. DeVilbiss has been in the business for a long time. Today they make dozens of models. But until the HVLP revolution manufacturers made many fewer models and the technology of those models was basically the same. You may be able to find an overhaul kit that will work even if it is not exactly for your gun.

no numbers that I can find. Any tips on where to look?

I'll see if I can borrow a camera tonight.

The one in your posted pic has what appears to be the model id just in front of the 2 knobs. Your older unit may not have the 2 knob setup, but look in the same area. Not there? Look everywhere on the unit - top, bottom, under the lid - everywhere. It will be odd if has no markings, I think.

That gun you have pictured is a SHARPE model 775. the model # is stamped on the right side of the handle just below the fluid and pattern knobs. I have that same gun sitting in my lap right now. Anything else i can help you with just let me know, good luck, BUILDER. :D

yeap, numbers were on the other side right there. Builder, you have any good information on the gun? I figure I'll google it, but what do you think of it? planning on doing some quick and dirty painting w/ it, a baja and a bus. never used a gun before, so this should be interesting!

No problem...

I went through tons and tons of issues trying to locate an original Cobalt before they went big time.

Then of course I needed seal kits etc.
