hi i have a 1965 t1 and will be fitting some 15" 7j porsche teledials.
the car at the moment has stock wheels lowered at the back with long axles, also dropped spindles and adjustable beam at the front. but the main reason for upgrade is because i will be looking at fitting a 2.1dj engine so i wanna beef it all up.
my plans are to fit disks up front and narrow it 4" to make up for the extra track on the teledials/spindles. Porsche pattern drums at the back.
Tyres i'm thinking of 175/50 up front and a low frofile 215 on the back. also i may be looking at air ride at least up front
are 7j at the front too wide?
would it be worth looking at irs?
what you guys think?
Thanks
Stephan

What is your final goal for the car and how much money and time do you want to spend on it?

right due to change of plans the 7j's might be out of the window.
my idea for the bug is something with power and reliability hence a stock 2.1 wbx. also would be cool if it handled nicely and did a tidy 1/4 mile.
money i don't have much but an OK budget as for time i have loads.
as said i may scrap the teledial idea as getting too complicated and would mean altering wings etc and i want to keep the car as stock looking as possible. but if necessary i will get bigger wheels for safety reasons, at the mo the car is running 135 up front and 195 on the rear on 4,5" rims.
any ideas on what would be good or advisable will be much appreciated as i want to get as much info as possible before getting started.
Thanks
