How to install zerk fittings on new front beam?

For road racing, autocrossing, or just taking that curve in style. Oh yea, and stopping!

How to install zerk fittings on new front beam?

I recently purchased a new front beam and it came without any zerk fittings (grease nipples).

I have a few questions:

1. Where are the fittings suppose to be installed on the beam? (Distance from end of tube? Rotation angle to shock towers?)
2. How to install zerk fittings? (Pilot hole? Is a Tap needed?)
3. What size zerk fitting is best? (1/4-28, M8-1.0, etc?)

The are installed 4.5 inches from the edge of the beam. The are angled same as the torsion sleeve lock nuts. You will need a tap. Never had to do that so I don't know what size it is.

Hey Shane. You can put the zerks where ever you'd like as long as they're in between the inner and outer bushing/bearings where the trailing arms ride. Some people relocate them around to the back side of the beam to avoid damage off-roading and such. As long as they fill the area between the inner bushing and outer bearing for each trailing arm tube, you're good to go. You do need to tap the holes, either the 1/4-28 or M8-1.0 would work fine. Just mount them where you can get to them easily for greasing.

Now, if your using urethane bushings inside the new beam, you might have to rethink how the lube is getting to the shaft inside. But if you've got factory style bushings/bearings, you'll be fine.

OK I have to admit I'm a total idiot. I masked the zerk holes before painting and didn't see them. Needless to say everything is good to go and brand new M8 thread Zerks are installed!
