Hi guys, its been about 6 years since i posted on this site! so long so that ive forgotten my old user name so im starting from scratch, im information hunting at the moment, im trying to find out some more information about the car in the picture below:









So far ive established that it was owned and possibly still is by a german guy called Klaus Raschig its a 1975 1303 with a 2,9 L Type 4 lump in the back. Does anyone know where the bodywork is from? Im after the front end, i have a feeling that it maybe a one off but im hoping not! i dont want to go down the mould making route if i can help it.

Any info would or nudges in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

I have installed Creative Car Craft Parts.. there is a reason it's expensive..

My next car will have a full kit (not mullholland).

Thanks for the link, I'm not really a fan of the Mulholland look but they seem like a great source of fibreglass components and oversized arches, I'm looking into getting the front end made up as I'm having no luck trying to find it. One of my old university mates is a car designer and he's going help me come up with a buck to form the moulds from. This is a long long way off but if I were to go ahead and make the moulds would anyone else be interested in it?

This is the closest I could find for you.

Chances are you can get some components.. then glass a mold.

Shipping this stuff is the issue as VW folks are cheap and do not understand what it takes.. figure about $500 to ship anything of this size.

Fiberglass is very easy to work with. New 'glass will laminate to old 'glass, if you sand it down past the paint and gelcoat. You could easily adapt ricer 'glass parts to suit your needs. Too short or long, just cut and reglass. This will save you time on design and there are lots of ricer websites to get parts from.

If you are only making one part(no mater how big), there is no need to make a mold.

I've had luck buying stuff from casting houses.. the'll gladly sell you their bad castings.

hi guys thanks for the advice, ive seen too many times beetles with terrible fiberglassing and bodywork on the them so i want to make this as a one piece front end. When this gets underway im going to get hold of a Porsche 997 bumper and start from there, then i'll blend that in and make a buck to take mouldings off. Heres a couple more pictures:
