Dual 34mm throttle bodies on 1.7 Type 4?

I have searched and searched, and can't find anyone doing this - which probably means it is a bad idea.
I have a stock (as far as I know) 1.7 out of a 914, which I am in the process of converting to upright cooling. This engine will be getting megasquirt fuel injection.
I don't believe the mild mannered nature of this engine warrants individual throttle bodies. My thought is to find a set of dual carb intake manifolds, (like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Type-1-2-Por ... 1642270257 but just the manifolds) fit them with injector bungs, and attach a ~34mm throttle body on each. I want to avoid the throttle being a toggle switch, and thought this may be a good compromise between performance and ease of packaging (a single throttle body, plenum, etc). Am I crazy?
Thanks,
Vince
