my trigger wheel came a bit loose on it's first start up .
nothing is wired up yet i am going to start wiring on sunday.
my problem is when the pulley and trigger wheel came a bit loose the
trigger wheel scraped the hall sensor .
only put a few small scatches on it .
but while the motor is back out do i need to change the hall sensor
or should i just try it first to see if i get a signal

It's easy enough to test a hall gear tooth sensor. Get your multi meter out and put neg on ground and positive on signal. With power on and nothing in front of the sensor look at the current reading( 0v or supply voltage, this will depend on the sensor you have ), then put a piece of steel in front of it and you should get the opposite reading.
