Just thinking out loud, you can't use them with 3 or 5mm wheel spacers? The factory 924T rims (they were 928S) I pulled and used on my bug had super long studs on the rears and like 25.4mm spacers IIRC.
It depends on your car, T3s and Supers and Ghias want more offset.
I got 245/50-16s on 8" ET52.3 manholes under my square with the original arms and single blade spring plates with only rolling the fenders and some careful clearance at the trailing arm and bump stops. (The fronts are 6" ET 52.3 with 1" spacers, 205-55s)
With the early 944 T arms and no spacers, I could probably run 265s on 9s out back with the later ET65 offset. (fenders were flared, but tons of room to the trailing arm/spring plate)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
