Smaller boost hoses from rear to front ?

Post by panel »

I was wondering what everyone was using to run their smaller signal hoses to the front from the engine. Like Boost pressure gauges or boost controllers that require a hose to it etc. Are you running some sort of hard line and a mix of rubber or silicone ? How about the plastic lines from air brakes or air bags ?

I'm using some hard plastic line that I think may have been leftover from an air ride installation. Rubber at each end.

So how do you stop the rubber from sliding off or popping off the pneumatic hard plastic line ? It probably has no barb on it ?

I use 3/16ths inch vacuum line from my intake manifold to the fuel regulator then to the ECU up front.
I have a different line ...but same size running from the turbo to the EBC and tee'd to the Hobbes switches......it then goes back to the wastegate. Those items only see boost.

The vacuum line is available at your local Auto Parts store and is trouble free. It's been there since 2011 when I installed the MS-1.

You could use 3/16ths hard brake line in the straights and use hose on the ends. If running high pressure just use a zip tie to hold it on.
I don't use anything where I have barbs but the two brass tubes out of the TB that are plugged....... I put that hose on and zip tie them for extra holding.

I don't know on mine. It just doesn't come off. It's seen 31.3 psi in the past.

madmike .....I have the very similar one that you pull a little flange to disengage the line. Like your red line in the back there. I have that one running from rear to front for my boost gauge. Was mostly wondering what to do for a transition from those hard plastic lines to a plastic barb fitting. These types are the bomb  They even have swivel styles.

Beats me. I just shoved some rubber over the hard line. That was for my PLX boost gauge. Been there for almost a year now.
