I am trying to get an EJ20 JDM motor running on a motor stand and can not find a wire diagram for the coil pack.
There are four wires on the coil and I can find diagrams showing how the coil works but have not found a specific diagram for the Subaru coil.
Which wires go to what on the coil. And how do these relate to the Microsquirt?
I found some good diagrams on the LS1 coil but not for a Subaru.
Does somebody here have the answers on the Subi to Micro coil connections?
While I am here. Are the crank and cam sensors polarized? Or can I connect one lead to ground and the other to the Micro?
Thanks,
Garry

On one of my wiring diagrams (JDM) it's labled 1= battery volts , 2= earth , 3=primary 1/2 and 4= primary3/4. I didn't run the JDM Subaru coil and another guy on here didn't run it also. I'll find his build and post it later. I can't remember now but there was a reason we both didn't run it.

Ah here it is.........viewtopic.php?t=146209 He's long sold that car though.
This is a PM from him to me re: COIL.
You can run the old style coil pack with separate ignitor module. Or the newer style coil pack with integrated module. However the cheapest option is the newer style VW wasted sprk coil. There is a recommendation in the microsquirt manual that you can download online that has the part number for the VW coil.

Thanks for the info and link.
What version of the Microsquirt did either of you have?
Mine is the most recent v3.
Wonder if that makes an difference or if the newer version is more accommodating?

I'm running MS2 and not sure what he was running. Just read his build and it didn't look like he specified.
