I have a 69 MaxiTaxi. The fuel tank is behind the rear seat. The fuel guage doesn't register any fuel level. It doesn't look like the vibrator on the back of the speedo gauge is hooked to anything. I believe the fuel tank does not have a fuel sending unit to send information to the fuel guage.
Is there a way to verify that without dropping the engine to visualize the top of the fuel tank and look for a sending unit?

Do a search on the subject. I found another one with more detailed instructions but it had stuff at the bottom that I didn't want to post here.

This is the one I bought for my tube fuel tank. I bought a matching sender then had it fitted up and welded the mount for it to work in my tubular fuel tank. It talks a bit about the OHMs that the gauges and senders run at but.. both units have to match up in the same OHM range.
The upper URL does talk a bit about testing the OHMs via. the lead from the sender.
