Does he also use a Subaru 5 speed? If so, that's another 25lbs more than a Type 1 trans.
The Subaru engine's also a lot heavier. The double cam WRX even more. Because of that, I don't think it's quite an even comparison. That means if you use the same 26mm bars as him, your car will be stiffer.

The hollow bars all have the same ID hole. I'll find out what it is.

No he has a T1 trans. I agree it's not an apples to apples comparison. I'm ok with the numbers you've given before. My actual point was that the KYB HD shocks can handle the increased spring rate. Years back, in a discussion with a Koni rep, he was concerned about the increased rate of the 23.5s I was installing back then. I'm sure he would say the two current Koni rear shock Beetle offerings would NOT be ok with 26mm torsion bars. I was on the hunt for something that could handle the increased spring rate.

That said, Bruce, I really appreciate you keeping up with this.
