Trans-America Trail (TAT)

I'm going to attempt the coast-to-coast Trans-America Trail this coming April (2024) in my Baja Bug.
It looks like I'll be doing it solo unless someone steps up and is willing to go with me. Bueler? Bueler? Bueler?
As far as i know, I'll be the first Baja Bug to ever do it.
My plan is to leave on or near April first and drive east to San Antonio to watch the Full Eclipse on the eighth. From there, I'll continue east until I get to (or near) Port Hatteras in North Carolina.
At that point, I'll start the official TAT and head west.
I'm excited but nervous. I expect it to take me four or five weeks to complete it. I'm really apprehensive about the 13,000 foot passes in Colorado given the likelihood of snow so I'm seriously considering detouring south through New Mexico if possible. I'll rejoin the TAT either in Utah or Nevada then continue to my home in Southern California.
I'm so jazzed!
