This might be a dumb question but I just replaced the sending unit on my 1972 Super and I can't get it to seal properly to the tank, every time I take a turn with a full tank it leaks and if I push down on the tank I can hear air coming out from around the seal.
How is this o-ring supposed to fit into the equation? It's too big to fit tightly around the flange on the sending unit so I laid it on top of the tabs but obviously that's not right. Did they send me the wrong seal? When I took the old one out it basically disintegrated and came out in pieces with some of them stuck to the sending unit and some of them stuck to the tank so that's not really a good model of how it's supposed to fit.
