Anyone see a problem using a set of Scat Pro Comp 1.25 rockers in a daily driver 2007cc Type I with low compression and an Engle 110 cam? The engine has 044 heads on it.

Sometimes the engine does´nt pay for the "conversion" most of the times it run like a bat out of ---!? somewhere, really improoves top end. Normally it gives you another 300 rpm of power + about 5% more hp.

Check for coil bind AND check your valve guides regularly because you are just about to over accellerate your valves.

Be careful with the Scat 1.25 rockers, they may actually measure out at 1.38. From what I've heard Scat switched suppliers so the new rockers are more accurate. You may want to try OEM 1.25 rockers. They measure out at 1.21 and they will fit on stock or H.D. rocker shafts.

Ok, could this combo be bad for my setup then? I figured it might be ok with the 110 since its not too radical.

hmmmmmm, what springs? it would be worth about 8 hp. I think it will work.

Its the singles that come on the Bugpack Street Pro heads. I am not sure exactly what they are. I could ask them some more specifics on the heads and raise the topic again unless someone else knows anything about those.

The heads look like 044s to me based on the shape and the intake port thickness.

The old Scat 1.25 rockers were 1.38 but Scat have recently remade there Pro rockers so they are actually closer to the advertised ratios.Scat rockers are a nice peice of kit but bear in mind if you use them with stock length valves you will have to machine down the mounting pedestals in the head to get the correct geometry .080" should do it.

Whoa there.. someone tell me I don't have to machine the rocker pads! That's the first time I have heard that! Yikes!

I think an engle 110 and 1.25 rockers are a little to much for single high revs. Your lift is going to be around.488 and your valve springs won't cope with the extra exceleration for very long. I tried this combo on my daily driver 1776 only to have the valves float at 5500rpm and put a valve thru the piston, bend the rod and ruin the head. I should have pulled the heads, had them cut for dual springs and done a valve job while they were out but I tried be cheap and it ended up costing me a whole bunch.

Yeah, maybe I will forget the whole thing. I am hearing too many differing opinions and results to be comfortable with the idea now.

i've seen plenty of people use 1.25's on larger cams than that with no problems.dual springs would be a must with the extra lift though!just make sure to set up youre rocker geometry correctly when you put it back together,cause you will probably need shorter pushrods also.

Don't give up. here is what you need, lash caps on the valves will get geometry close where no machine work is needed. you also need to convert to dual springs, machine work will be needed for that.

If you want to try. I think you should stay with the "stock" type 1,25 rockers on HD shafts. Then buy a set of Special HD springs from John at Aircooled net. These springs are in between the singles and duals, and WILL do the job up to around 6500 rpms.
then you do not have to machine anything and you will still be on the safe side.
