Hi all,
I'm in the process of installing a 914 2.0 with stock d-jet FI into my 69 VW T3 squareback.
The big project is to figuire out how to get the 914 throttle body assembley under the t3 decklid.
I'd like to modify the the air box so that the throttlebody sits off to the side like seen in Tom's set up:

But Tom is using an aftermarket FI setup, I'm using the 914 d-jet which is a larger Throttlebody than the one Tom uses.
Anybody have any Ideas? I may have to do some custom pumping, but I'm lloking for all ideas for the easist, cheapest solution.
Thanks
Ned

how much clearance are we taking about, if it's not to much maybe you could modify the lid, rather than modify the engine components

probably 3 inches more and that would be tight... anybody have any experience with adapting a 1.7 airbox? or a t3 airbox?

Ned, I just added a bit on the tank that i'm setting up for mine. I should have some more pix of the pump install, wiring mess and a few other things soon.
Good to see you here so quickly. I wonder if any body here knows bus plennuns and if they used the same size runners once as a 914 2L. And whether the plennun would fit between them with minor fiddles? That could help Ned out a bit. It would be a shame to put a bump in the middle of the cargo floor.

The bus runners/plennums to my knowledge do not fit the 914 stuff. I have seen several 2.0l 914's running 1.7 intakes/FI setups. The 1.7 tb is on the side not the top like the 2.0. They run the green 2.0l injectors and the 2.0 brain box and adjust the pressor senor. This set up might solve the tight fit you have, especially since thats how the 411 were set up with the 1.7 motors too.
