Buy a condensor for a 12 volt car, I dont know there break down voltage but they are a capacitor and can dry after years of use.

points pitting
hi guys i have a 1300sp stock as a rock except for 12v conversion.its a 67 beetle vacuum advance dist,my question is concerning pitting of the points after 250-300miles i was wondering if my bosch blue coil is causing an increase in arcing across the points because the condenser is for the original coil.any electrical type guys or gals out there .thanks.

I would have changed out points AND condenser when I changed from 6-12 volts. Replace the points and condenser as a unit, my good man. They seem to like to work together, I have noticed. And no, I have no idea why.
