In Fremont Ca. I know of one guy who has a really cool original Fiberfab Dune buggy complete with Malteze cross taillamps, and rear window in the vinyl top!
The other is a very nice Sterling with original gel coat, but it is on a swing axle pan. Both are a "make me an offer" kind od deal, but you never know what that may mean. I offered the guy with the Sterling $1000.00 and he turned it dwon, but I would say it's worth at least $3000.00. It is a real nice unmolested original.

Do you want new or used? Drews Off Road (http://www.go-drews.com) here in Cincinnati can get complete fiberglass manx style bodies new. For enough $$$ they will even build you a complete car and hand you the keys.

I don't have one but I recently saw a documentry on Mr Meyers and his little "creation" and the guy is still around driving a Manx and has a club in SoCal. It was a very intersesting show, I think it was on TNN.

Bruce Meyers lived next door to my buddy back in the late 70's and early 80's.
He had this cool Ford Van that had a mural of Miss Piggy on the side and a Triumph 250 cub on the rear rack. Steve

i really want to make my own car from scrach on a vw frame and then seeing what would come of it (i think we all know the Meyers Manx story). i am verry good w/ my hands and i think i could do a good job, plus summer is coming up and i will have a lot of free time. so if anyone has any plans or ideas for a cool car any help would be appreciated. i thought about buying a car and stripping it down and modifying it from
there, but i bet that is a pain in the rear.
any help or ideas would be appreciated

anyone else know of companies that sell new bodies for vw's? what about an all fiberglass body modled after a vw to replace the whole body? also anyone want an old super beetle or 1200cc engine, rebuild is started on both.
