I have been thinking about doing an engine conversion and I have seen radiators w/elec. fans mounted paralel to the motor (in-line 4)in the engine bay of type 1's -the one I have seen happened to be a 1.6, SOHC, VW in-line 4--intake & exhaust,on the drivers side, and (motor down the middle) the radiator mounted along side the motor -all in the engine bay!
has anyone done this? or heard/known someone with this kind of setup?
just wondering if a radiator mounting in such a way would give enough cooling?

Hi
I have seen a conversion, where the builder has mounted two mini radiators, one in each rear wheelarch, one with an electric fan fitted to it, then used heating/plumbing copper pipe to plumb them in, if this is of interest to you check out www.ricola.co.uk.
