I have been studying this conversion for some time.
Question; What will the engine ground clearance be? I understand that the bottom of the engine might be 2 or 3 inches lower than what a 914 engine is. Anyone know of such a conversion and what the dimmentional draw backs might be?

No idea, but I know that KEP has a modified sump that allows 3-4 inches clearance. It's big in the Vanagon circles.

This should help, it is for an earlier turbo unit but the principle is the same and uses the same KEP kit.
