I don't think AS came in anything from the factory - it's the replacement case for carb & FI dualports. The only ones I've seen were AS21 alloy, which isn't bad.
AE was the code for 1600 DPs c1971/72 and AD was the same thing in 1200. We didn't get anything with an AD in the states so I've only seen a couple of them, but I think I remember them having slightly less-beefy center main webs than the 1600 cases. As far as I know all AE & AD were AS41 alloy which some consider superior to AS21 (I'm not convinced).
Peppe?

I really appreciate your time to answer my question!
So,my plan is to buy a stock engine for daily use(1600 DP ,AS21,).I'm thinking to change the 34 carb with dual carbs. What do you suggest me about dual carbs and what other modifications i had to do for increase the HP on a stock engine(without lose drivability-longevity)?
Regards,
Jim
