Some suggestions.

I like some of the bells and whistles of this site, but some feature of the old site I liked, just because of the simplicity.
Here are some of my suggestions:
1. The index page has specialty forums that don't get nearly as much attention as some of the other forums. For example, the kit car forum doesn't get nearly the amount of activity as the SE VW forum, or most of the other general forums.
Could we move some of these more trafficed forums up in the page and catagorize based on popularity. It just seems like some of them look "hidden" on the index page.
2. On the chat feature, I like the chat but all of the notices saying that someone has gone "away" makes the "read" very tough. Can you disable?
3. The main menu bar on the left squeezes the forum text and can create some left to righ scrolling. Couldn't some of these items be added to the red menu bar on the top to give a fuller screen?
Just some thoughts. The VW community really appreciates the work you guys do.
