Has anyone ever tried the Empi Accu-Fire ignition? Also, what's the difference between Suppressed and Copper Core Non-Suppressed wires?

Don't know on the ignition...but copper core wires are usually wound with glass, aramid or some other highly insulative wire, then covered with silicon. They are standard type VW wires. The others are radio suppresion wires. Many have a carbon strand core which concducts well and leaks less intereference to your radio. The copper cores generally have the proper resistance for thestock VW ignition and are much more durable in these cars. Ray

Here's an update to my question. I tried different air gaps with the module from right up on the magnet to far away. When it was the farthest from the magnet the dwell went down to about 39-40 degrees. With the module closest to the magnet it went back to 42. I then reset it to where it was suppose to be and it dropped to 38. I had enough and went and bought a new module. Installed it at the correct air gap with the little plastic piece they give you and now the dwell sits right at 50 degrees with a rock solid timing. Perfect! Guess I had a bad module.
