Removing sliding door?
Hi all. What is the procedure for removing/installing the sliding door for a 70 bus? Mine is in need of replacing and I've found a donor bus with a good condition door. Thanks.

Best suggestion is for you to beg, grovel or borrow a VW Bentley Manual. The body section outline the exact procedure for getting the door off plus the instructions for aligning the door once installed.
But.......
The rail cover below the rear side window needs to be removed first. There is a screw at the back and if memory serves me a 3mm machine screw that is inside the bus and exits with a nut on the outside. This screww holds the front part of the cover. After about 72ish both screws were on the outside.
Once off you slide the door back till the nylon glide on the track/hinge mechanism is in line with the cut out in the rail channel. Pull the back part of the door off. Careful the door is heavy! Slide the door back, holding the door at about 30-40 angle to the bus body till it is fully open. At that time the lower front roller mechanism on the front of the door ban be pulled out. Careful again, for now the top roller will be clear to drop down with the door. Many a corner of a bus door has been bent at the stage. Two bodies doing this job is better till you do it a few times.
Assembly is the reverse. Don't forget to lube the rollers and hinge mechanism.
