Check out www.speedsterowners.com. There are not only the names of speedster body companies, but discussions of what they offer and how dealing with them is.

I've been there

I've been to speedsterowners.com. Nobody sells just bodies, only kits and rolling chassis. I know somebody is making bodies for these guys.

That's what kit's are, different stages from basic to near complete. I'd personally get a few manufacturers and talk to them directly via phone or email. They probably won't advertise but when money talks they'll sell you what you want. I did this when asking about 550 chassis only and most will sell you the chassis by itself. But it's not something most people want so they don't advertise it.

Beck used to sell kits built in Calif but without tops, as well as turnkeys (which I believe is all he offers now) which are actually made in Brazil (IIRC), these were/are available with tops.

He's now hooked up with the new Studebaker/Avanti corp. and they're going to be making his Listers and something else down there in Georgia. I wish him and them the best of luck, but my spider sense is tingling (I smell something amiss).

Speedster Body

You can get just the speedster body with no subframe or anything else, or rolling chassis, to the finished product from Vancouver Island Fiberglass, on Vancouver Island British Columbia. Being in Canada you will get big value for your dollar. Ph' (250) 954-2296 and ask for Dave tell him Vic in Victoria sent you.

:D Hi!
Try the site www.kccvenomcars.co.za - Speedster bodies, made in South Africa. I've seen these cars before, and they are damn good. With the exchange rate, it shouldn't be too expensive.

They say that Intermeccanica of Vancouver BC makes the best bodies.

Call VintageSpeedsters, they sell kits and bodies to most of the other manufacturers, with the exception of Intermecannica. Intermec makes their own bodies.
