What do you guys do to effectively seal a type 1 oil pump? Aside from using new sealing nuts, do you coat those thin paper gaskets with anything?

Thanks,

I use a light coating of copper rtv.. I just put some on my fingers and rub it around the gasket... Havent had a problem yet.. If you don't use anything more often than not they leak..

Thanks for the quick reply, Milo.

Now, not to sound totally inane and belaboring minutia, do you just thinly coat the gasket between the pump and case, or both pump/case and pump/cover?
