carbecue salvage

what does it take to salvage a bug after a pretty intense engine fire. all the paint is cooked off the deck lid, some around the aporon, and all over the louvers. rear glass is discolored and clouded. paint's also cooked off on the inside of the luggage compartment. this looks like it was a real marshmellow toaster!!!

i have a fresh engine and tranny. it was pretty much a melt down in the engine compartment, is it going to be a bear to get the burt engine out? can i prime the roasted lid, or would i be better off digging up a raw one? what about the harness? any other things to look for or consider before i commit to rescuing this furace on wheels?

thanks for the advice,
gcorrado
