black primer
i got some black primer... and is primer supposed to be all dusty? when it dries its not smooth. i sanded my hood down to the metal and sprayed it, it was all dusty, so i washed it off and theres a bit of metal spots still showing through... so ill just spray some more and wash off the dust? is this how its supposed to work?

black primer
Do you have primer or primer surfacer. If just primer its not suppose to be dusty as you say and its not to be sanded. A primer surfacer must be reduced and catalyzed or hardner added to it. Then wait the proper dry to sand time. You not use this produdct over bare metal. Bare metal should be properly cleaned and an etch primer should be applied over that, then a primer surfacer may be applied over the etch primer. Hope this help.

If your getting the dusty I think you are, no it should not turn out like that. What are the tempuratures were you are at? It is it to hot that will happen. Usually you need direct sunlight on the surface to make it hot enough to cause it to harden so fast it gets dusty. If you were painting in direct sunlight try it without direct sunlight on the vehicle and it should work better.
