How many people are running an oxyboxer in there cars? This forum seems a little weak. Not too many post's. Are people using this idea? Is this engine more of a myth or do they exist?-Matt

My oxy is not finished yet, so I haven´t any experiences to tell about. I have a frend doing the mods and machining. Hope to see it running by may. It´s a 76x94.

They are quite new here in Finland but att least one is made, that I know off. It was used in endurance-racing and worked great. Seems like a strong package if one knows how to build one.

When mine is ready to go, I´ll let the whole world know about it

Thanks Niklas, That's the kind of stuff I want to hear about. Good luck with your conversion, keep us updated on it's progress. I think that an Oxy sounds like a great idea. Now, I want to hear about peoples experiences with them, good or bad. The t-4 is being used with great success, what about the Oxy? -Matt

As far as race only, I have run a modified water boxer case in my race bug for the last two years. The case itself is probably better than most aftermarket cases.

I just picked up an old wasser motor that I'm planning to do, but I'm not actually running it as we speak.

I'm now about to start experimenting as well.

I'm just about ready to do the "trial assembly up to getting my deck ht. measurements" experience on an 84x95. Something that was sort of started like 8 years ago and I finally really need it.

I'm running a warm wasser in my buggy. I might go Oxy in the future but I like the water cooled motor. It is way better than a T1 or T4 - I've had both - for cheap warmed up power, and looked after is very robust. I'm looking to the next step, see my posts (I agree this forum can be quiet at times.. )

I think the wasser short block is very under developed outside germany, they do a lot of things to it but most web stuff is in german and needs translating on babel, not easy sometimes!

If I were to go Oxy I would keep the wasser heads, weld up the water ports and not prat about with the studs. The heads are pretty good as stock and you need to do some very expensive stuff to get better, if it is for daily road use you'd be better off spending the money on a turbo injection and ECU management.

You mention keeping the wasser heads on an Oxy. Can this be done?

Joe only did part of the conversion on my case.

If the new pent roof ally cases were available when I started this project many years ago, I wouldn't have gone the oxy way. After checking out the new cases, I like them.
