motor on 69 won't turn over

I have as 1600DP in my 69. When I bought it about a year ago it ran great, and then about a month ago it won't even turn over now...i didn't let it sit without running for more than a month. I changed the oil, the spark plugs, and the wires... anyone know what my problem could be?

Won't turn over as in won't crank (starter problem) or cranks-but-won't start? If the latter, first thing I'd check is that there's spark (points can develop an insulating corrosion layer when idle for a long time, a little blessing with an emery board should fix that. The fuel may have evaporated from the carb and the pump isn't able to fill it back up at cranking speeds, too - it should be able to, but if it's weak or the filter in the tank is partially plugged it may be having a hard time of it.
And double-check the firing order just in case you messed up when changing the plug wires....

well i guess its the starter then cause it won't crank or do anything when I turn the ignition not a thing happens besides me getting pissed. Do you think a starter from a junkyard would be good of get a all new one?

We're not getting enough information here to jump to any sort of conclusion like " I guess it's the starter"
Do you have a fully charged battery?
Are your cables/terminals in clean tight condition?
Do you get slight dimming of the idiot lights in the start position?
Have you crossed the spade to the 13mm nut on the starter solenoid to see if the solenoid engages (make sure it is in neutral)?
Any other info?

fully charged battery, clean terminals, good wires running to the motor, no dimming of any lights, good ignition, so i guess it's the starter...again. i mean i am not positive, but i really think thats what it is.

Test jump the spade terminal to the 13mm nut on the solenoid. Make sure car is in neutral with no gas leaks dripping nearby. If the starter engages, it is more likely in the ignition switch/wiring. If it sits there and sparks without engagement, or just sits there. . . . starter.

Worth mentioning...even a brand-new starter won't do anything but clunk if the bushing in the trans is bad - that's why they put a new one in the box and require you to install it before the warranty's any good.
If you decide to get a junkyard starter, get one from an AutoStick or automatic (SR17X) - they don't need a bushing.

Exactly like Colin said, using an old screwdriver or pliers that you won't mind getting a little cosmetic damage from the sparks.

give it a few "technical taps"

with a hammer or similar (the starter motor that is)

tends to do the job

ok well this weekend i plan on trying it mainly cause thats when i will have time to so thanks guys i will tell u how it goes on sat or sunday.
