Airconditioned DTM! Its here!

Post by MASSIVE TYPE IV »

Just in time for summer! Its done!!

I'll have pics very soon, but the brackets are all finished to adapt a Sanden a/c compressor!!

Thats right, ANY DTM cooling system on ANY Type IV engine, this includes the original DTM as well as my updated version.

It will fit any vehicle that a DTM can be used in, and any distributor can be used on all applications EXCEPT early beetles. In an early car (pre 67) the compressor will not be compatible with a Mallory or MSD dizzy. Those applications will need either a 009, or my direct fire set up.

Prices will soon be up for the brackets, as well as the complete a/c kit from Gilmore enterprises... Thats just a bolt in!

Imagine a 160 HP, cool running 80-100K mile engine that doesn't need constant fiddling with!!!!!

I think we should have some more emoticons available. the one that comes to mind would have its tongue hanging out and drooling. :D

I was meaning to ask about the AC the other night, as it is a high priority for me. Good news Jake!

That's great, I can't wait for the brackets to be available. I was looking at Bay window to buy the inside of the AC last month, and wondering about your brackets.

Couple of questions:

Will we just a "bigger" belt to run the Alt and AC compressor?

Will be be able to get the Model number of the Compressor needed/
