Jake or anyone who can help: Where is the best location to sample oil temperature? I am currently sampling the oil at the top of the case as it comes out of the bypass.

Thanks Jake! Mmm, I am a little scared to try it there now. LOL

I am going to try the jetting change and then also try to sample the oil in the sump. Wish me luck!
By the way, I will soon be contacting you regarding Type IV stuff

Think about where the hottest "used " oil would come from. Maybe off the cylinder areas or scavenged from the lifter galley area? Just speculating but could that possibly be one of the best areas to check? Maybe mount a sensor on...say the end of a long bolt...screwed into the crankcase from underneath with the sensor right off underneath the windage tray under the oil return area from the galleys. Ray

Jake,
That was my feeling exact! Given that the temperature rises slowly I still think that either my oil cooler setup is not up to par or the oil bypass is not working properly and not routing all the oil to the cooler or heck, maybe both darn things (I know Murphy very well!).
