Thank you Aircooled Team (Raby and crew, aircooled.net, Ahnendorp, CSP, Gene Berg) -- you've made my 20 year dream come true. I bought this as my first car 20 years ago and always wanted a Porsche. Now I've got one dressed as a Bug.







Underneath is ceramic lifters, RAT T4 "B" tranny with lightened flywheel, Setrab fan pack cooler, RLR traction bar, Berg 643 intermediate trans mount.

I was going to say the same thing on the install. Struck me imediatly. Beautiful job. The blue hoses are a nice touch. Wheredya get them?

You guys could race.. Your trannys are very close and the combos are as well... That would be a sweet feature of TIV power there!

Jake -- as I've been building this car, I was guided by what you said when I first talked to you about your engines. You said, 'if your going to do this, do it right'. I've had fun working out all the details.

Ron -- the hoses are Aeroquip FC332. They're rated up to 300F/250psi like the ones Jake uses (Gates). I fell into this hose when setting up the external oil cooler. I switched to ss braided and decided to use the blue stuff in the engine bay since I already had it. I got it through a local hydraulics shop for $4/ft.

Dave -- ya, I'm looking forward to Bug-o-rama. Went this year for the first time. Loved it. I'm up for a race.

to keep rocks off the tires from puncturing it...........

You can trash your engine in less than two minutes.....

Gorgeous detailing. I like the different colors contrasting in the engine bay. Makes for a neat install. Ok, so give us more on your car now. It should go, and I noticed a BAS full dual muffler exhaust system?

I wonder what the gearing is on the tranny?

Bill and I have the same combo, give or take a few minor details that Jake only knows. On monday I was showing a friend the car entering route 13 highway in Montclair (north east Oakland) that has about a 1/2 mile of a hill climb to it. Third->fourth shift was at about 80 mph and the carbs were sounding great @ 6K.

Jake's 2270C has a huge powerband.

I sure love hill climbs. My top speed might be over 120. I don't know yet until I get my front suspension the way I want it. I'd rather not risk it yet.

Holy Aircooled God -- this thing blasts. I just took it for a doorless, fenderless, windowless drive up and down the street. My hearts still pumping and my cheeks hurt from smiling. Good thing there's a head rest on the seat or my neck would be wiped too.

As you can tell from my reaction, this is my first hopped up ride. Loving it!

Check out GermanLook.comfor more info on the car. BAS silencer system with sports racing header. See Jakefor a trany matched to your engine/tires. I?ve got his ?B? config setup for my 25? tires and the 2270C.

dStar -- Good point. Has filter rupture from rocks happened to anyone? I'm going to keep an eye on the filter/tire clearance as I bump out the rims to fill 3" wider fenders. I'll probably have 2" more clearance per side.

The gearing changes along with the combo... Tires impact it greatly! Just because its a "B" doesn't mean the gearing is the same, thats just the state of strength that we engineer into it..
