2000cc engine rebuild time
Hi guys whats goin on. Well My engine siezed on me and I have to get a new car. But my plan is to pull the motor and tranny out of my 412 and sell the rest for parts. But anywho I'm goin to rebuild my motor though over the next few months. I have some questions though. First off I'm not sure if its a type 2 or type 4 2000cc engine. I couldnt find any kind of stamp but I did find a bronze'ish piece of metal riveted to what I think is the egr valve or something. Its not hooked up but there is a square container with a fiber tube comeing out. If I take the tube out it sprays oil out of it. But continueing on The first to letters are CJ. I've called around and everyone seems to say they have never heard of that or they dont have it listed in there books and such. I looked in the How to keep you VW alive book and it has it listed as a later model type 2 2000cc engine. Im not sure if I should trust it so I thought I'd ask you guys. Also Do you know where I can get rebuild kits for a 2000cc engine? I would like to get preformance parts and maybe bore out the Sob some so I was wondering if anyone had ever seen a place that carries them. One more thing if anyone needs parts to a 73 412 wagon let me know I'll send pictures and we can talk about a price, I have no clue what Im selling them for so just throw out a price. I have the front headlight bezels and all that good stuff. If you want front fenders they have minor rust(I'll send a picture so you know what "minor" means) doors are in good shape driverside and back bench in great shape hood all that good stuff.
