This cooling setup is really interesting. I don't think it'd work, as where does the cooling air for the fan closest to the alternator come from? The second fan is blocking cool fresh air from reaching the first fan.
Here's another idea for Jake to test.

Tuna, maybe he opened the fan base to allow air to be drawn in from the flywheel side of the engine. It is very critical that the fan assembly is properly balanced. Also, the machined opening has to be done in such a way so that the impellers are still structurally supported in rotation. When parts rotate, bad things can happen especially when the RPM levels are increased.

Looks like an interesting concept, but didn't ONE T4 fan in the DTM provide way too much air?
2 T4 fans back-to-back would probably push more air than a 911 setup.
Doing a bit on enhancement on the pic reveals it's parts just set there in a pile, nothing connected.
It _is_ a novel method of handling the cooling balance issue though.
I would be likely better to try ONE fan, and center it between shrouds, with some sort of filler/venturi ring setup.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

One observation from the photos. . .
The unit pictured is NOT completed. The upper cooling tin is not even connected to the fan shrouds. Probably because if they did, they would realize that with the two shrouds back to back, there is no way to get to the spark plugs!! With a Cali conversion, you only have about 1/2" - 3/4" from #1 & #4 spark plugs. . .
It's an interesting idea, but it would be nice if they would at least have complete photos of a real working unit before advertizing it as a viable alternative. At least the price is good. . .

Now this gets interesting:
Quote from a PM on the Samba pt.1:
You have never made a purchase from me .
So why do you bash me?
My prices are the lowest you are going to find on Type 4 parts.
I can offer the lowest prices due to my location.
I am just minutes from the 3 biggest parts suppliers in the country.
These are 3 Main german parts supplier that ALL the shops buy from.
They deliver to me in their trucks, The other retailers pay shipping to get the part to them.
So If I dont have to pay shipping on a set of cylinders which is about a dollar a pound or $27 I can pass that savings on to the buyer.
Do you see anyone eles giving you thecomplete list of factory part numbers for the Type4 parts?
Anyone eles giving away cooling tin plans?
Any other retailer open seven days a week offering Type4 Parts?
You can call on sunday and order parts from a live person. Anyone else offer this?
I do all this and still offer the lowest prices.
So why do you bash me?
BTW I was top saleman at Pelican parts you could take John, Darrens and Sammys sales and total the together and the still didnt hit my sales.
Steve Stromberg
Pt.2:
I saw where you were saying that on Pelican my prices were too much.
Maybe the word bash was too strong but If you have never had any bussiness with me why would you make a comment about " Not so good"?
Steve Stromberg
My response:
First of all, that is on a completely different forum. I did not bash you, I told the guy to check feedback on your store through other sources (pelican's website) because I had been told to do the same. Interesting, those guys, many of whom have bought from you, have a very low opinion of your parts. I would do the same of any vendor before I bought parts from them. Would you send large amounts of money to a vendor you knew nothing about? Probably not.
Secondly, your prices are high. You advertise a T4 rebuild kit for $199. I can buy all of the parts individually at the local parts store for $60. That's what, 300% markup? Sounds steep to me.
Third, many of your products are questionable at best. The dual cooling fan conversion for a T4? Looks like a good idea, but with no data, no pictures of it assembled on a running engine, and no one other than yourself seeming to think it's worth the effort, I have my doubts about the level of knowledge you posses about these engines. Surely you might be a good salesman, I know plenty, but for the $$ involved in the typical T4 build, you need to buy your parts from someone who knows if part x will work with part y.
Last, why didn't you just post your comments on the STF thread? Are you afraid someone there would also bash you? They certainly have no reservations on other forums. Singling me out of a thread is futile. If I was going to buy any parts from your store, I certainly wouldn't now.
Look, if you want suggestions on how to improve your reputation, or your site, I'll freely give them. I'm not exactly trying to steer people from buying your parts. I could care less, it's not my money. But things like this will certainly push customers away.
Regards
Don

Yeah...
Like I said, he better be selling all he can as fast as possible!
Hell, the parts can be sold for the same price after being shipped clear across the country!
For some of us with buying power we buy enough the the suppliers PAY the shipping to get the parts to us!
The cooling system needs some serious engineering! Matter of factly the area that he is taking air from to feed the cooler is depleting the air going to the left side cylinders even more! Thats the worst place it could be fitted! The big challenge is getting air to that side in any capacity!
But I did get an idea from his contraption... I'll incorporate it on something of mine soon the smart way...
BTW, whats gonna happen when that extremely heavy fan meets its maker at the speed of sound??? I have tested a TIV fan at 3 different drive ratios in my DTM and it was horrible.... So much so that I threw away 2500 bucks worth of parts to produce them and totally scratched it from the line up!
I wouldn't wanna be anywhere near that engine at 6,000RPM with that drive ratio, else you might be wearing an impeller as an eyebrow
