Jake can give you the details on the engine. I'll be running it with my existing hyfire 6 CDi and a BAS exhaust system.
I'm using my existing IRS transmission which was built with more power than my initial 1641cc Type 1 in mind. Its a 3.44 f/d with 0.93 4th gear, giving smaller 3rd-4th gap at the cost of off-the-line speed. The Type I found it hard work but i'm sure Jake's 2270C will love it
I have spax adjustable shocks, CSP wide-5 discs up front (with dual circuit booster) and am adding wide-5 discs at the rear, together with a HD transmission mount, HD rubber mounts, kafer brace, and temporary front strap until I get a GB intermediate mount welded on.
Adding dual CHT, dual EGT, oil P/T, and o2 gauges.
Making other changes to the car over the winter too - kinda phase 2 of its build. Hope to be back on the road by the spring. More details at
