Flanged crank
Hey Rocky, do you make adapter bearings to run a flanged crank with a type1 thrust bearing in a 1.9 case?

Sweet! Then I will be calling you tomorrow, when is the best time to call you, a not too busy time of the day? Yep, I bought a Bugpack 88, I am not going to use those 044s my buddy was working on, but if he finishes them, I will have to at least try them out......the heads are still up in the air on this project. I do like the idea behind scats split heads, but I do not like how the rocker geometry is fixed on valve/ pushrod length, and rocker ratio.....seems really limiting on valve lift/ and spring combos.

I am going to street it a *little* bit. I am going to try and keep cool by installing as much stock tin as I can and run a remote cooler, and possibly build some valve oilers and possibly a dry sump. I know AF heads will live on a street motor like the one I am planning, but I know the limitations of the 4" cylinder are many..... They use 6 10mm studs, and 4 8mm studs on the 4" bore head. It *looks* like there is room in the casting to shift the studs, by welding in aluminum dowels where the original studs are. They also make af heads for 94s with the type 1 stud spacing, so there is casting to support those head nuts, and the WBX are close to that. I have emailed Revmaster, they make a version of the AFs that use the same bugpack stud spacing, but there are no bosses for the head nuts to seat on, they are flat across the fin so they might be a better option, but they are still in prototype stage.......I have also considered CE heads because they can be ordered without stud holes, but they might not have the chamber roof to support 4" without window-ing the chamber roof, then it is off tho the welder, like those 044s that my friend was working on......

Yeah, I think the Scats are a good idea, but there is no way to shim the rockers from the head, or machine a stand down for a weird combo. Too bad they weren't designed so you could put different height shims in between the rocker box and head....... Scat told me that you adjust geometry with pushrod length/ adjusting screw position. I could live with using all their valvtrain parts, to get the geometry the way Scat designed them, but it is very limiting of future combos........like never being able to run a really high lift cam, or roller rockers, or whatever......I am told Heads UP has billet cnc heads available with limitless stud, and cooling fin configurations, but my guess is that I would have to sell my son into slavery, and wait for a long time to recieve them, although they would definately be top notch, and I can't afford to go that fast:)
