I finally got the install finished, here are some fitting and install pics!

The engine has lost 25 pounds over the stock cooling tin arrangement with this set up!
This one is arranged for a full race application with a full external oil cooling system. The next version will have a provision for the stock oil cooler positioned differently in the engine bay with some cool ideas put to use!
So whaddya think?
The 914 specific DTM

I used it on this shroud to quieten the fan because in a 914 the engine is 2 feet behind your head and the whirring sound can be a pain...
That is exactly what I thought that ring would do for you by enabling air to transition and more smoothly enter the shroud resulting in less airflow induced noise generation:D. It is impossible to eliminate all air due to the "whirring" internal shroud and fan vanage but hey, that is the sound we love from these engines!

By the way, remember that oil cooler I remotely mounted fed with the air from my own 911 shroud, I had to use an additional oil cooler. You should not have to if you should route air to one as I did since the radial fan's discharged air possesses opposite characteristics to that of the axial fan. My mixed results and the DTM design proves this. By the way, according to my cylinder head temp gauge, I was able to get about 15 degrees difference between my highest and lowest temp. It took a lot of experimenting with internal vanvage and lotsa headaches. I think it is probably more since my temperature analysis wasn't that controlled and optimal like yours but at least I can use this Type 1 setup until I make the move to the Type 4.

I kind of like this 914 DTM setup for my 912
