Most HP AND Most Torque!
The Bluebonic Plague is back in full force!! The MassIVe 914 is second!
Thats right, both my cars placed first and second at the SE Dyno Day today.....
The 914 made 144HP and 144 foot pounds of torque and was revved to 7300 RPM. Brent drove it down on it's Maiden Voyage and it ran great! The 914 DTM in this version is officially perfected! Heads ran 250 and oil 190! Thats with a 10:1 engine!
The 3 liter was not as good as I had plotted, but spot on with the numbers I saw from my dyno on Thursday. The 3 liter ran all the way down flawlessly with temps cooler than a stock 2.0!! It is very drivable and tractable and smooth as glass! First gear is a little wild, but you realy don't need it with 200 lb/ft of torque.
Final numbers were 187 HP and 186 torque with the belt and 195.9 HP and 196 lb/ft of torque without the belt.... It makes awesome power- But not enough, This combo has another 40 HP in it to be unleashed with FI and more valve lift.
Tomorrow we are drag racing and all my competition are TI powered vehicles.... The strongest one has 45HP LESS than the 3 liter!
Great day, great weather and great people......What a blast.
I'll make a more detailed post when I get home.. I'm on the laptop and the signal sucks out here in the middle of no where!

Most amazing are the head temps indeed!! I'am very impressed
How many hp would the tranny have swallowed Jake? 30-35?
How do you want to gain more lift?? Making a full custom rocker set with 1:1,55 or so (Shads original ratio (from a chevy?) for the old Porkys head idea)?
Thanks for sharing
Walter

Congrats on the ass kicking Jake! In a way you got 2 first place dyno runs. The 3.0l is in a class of its own, but the 914 is a totally production based engine, equipped with the new hybrid heads based on AMC castings, so that's like another class all together. I'm not the least bit surprised by the cool head temps., considering how well the DTM works coupled with the obscenely low timing the hybrid heads like.
The 914's torque #'s are impressive, but I really like the story about an un-named driver finding its responsiveness and acceleration to be a little more than he expected right in the middle of beautiful downtown Cleveland, Ga.! You ought to share that story with everyone. Ofcourse you can leave out names to protect the embarassed.LOL

LOL.......you said it all Plaster. "vw_chuck" joined STF today, probably just to take his little potshot.........Plastermaster wrote:Read the history of this project and you will see the engine aint done yet.
1 post? What an ass hole.
Ron
That's ok, Jake is probably on top of the world right now and one little off-comment like that ain't gonna bring him down now!
So you think your project is taking forever eh? Well you've got nothing on me.....

You're probably the same "chuck" who created the commotion here a month or so ago.vw_chuck wrote:Where is this 300 hp you predicted??? My 2275 made that to the wheels with a bad injector??
Why don't you take your lies somewhere else, where you can fool people into believing you're god or something.

Those numbers are at the wheels on a stingy dyno.
Comparing HP numbers from two different dyno's in different locations on different days=Stupid.
unless it's on the same dyno with the same weather, you really can't compare numbers.
I rode in the beast and it's brutal. I know everybody says that, but I don't think anybody here could ride in it and then talk poop about it.
The car would easy run 11's as is and 10's with traction and tranny.
