914 alloys with dropped spindles?

Post by jono »

Can anyone tell me first hand if it's possible to fit either the 5.5x15" 914 replicas (et35) or genuine (et40) onto a beetle with dropped spindles, stock length beam and either 175/185 55 tyres? The reason i ask is i rescently tried to fit some teledials which were 6"x15 et53 and it was not possible to fit these to dropped spindles without large spacers as the spindle pulled the rim up so it fouled the trailing arm. I'm hoping with this set up the wheels will sit inside stock arches and not foul anything on the inside, Any advice greatly appreciated

you should have no problems with those wheels with no spacers needed
