I am in the process of ordering the parts for my 1.8L rebuild when I sarted looking on this forum...BAD idea!!!

Now I am thinking about forced induction for my 1.8L.

How do I get started????

Is there a parts list anywhere around listing all of the parts needed?

Thanks Maybe I'll be a new aircooled turbo addict..

Start by reading all that you can. Turbochargers by Hugh MacMannus(sp), Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, Turbomania by Rob Tomlinson.
There is no shopping list for parts because every install is different.
You will need to fabrication a turbo header. The turbo must be positioned high enough for its force fed oil to gravity feed back into the engine's sump. You will need room to get exhaust into the turbo, exhaust the exaust, get air into the turbocharger, and pressurized air out. You have TONs of room with a 914 compared to a Beetle. You should use most of your factory injection parts including manifold and throttle body, but it would be best to install an aftermarket programmable EFI computer such as SDSEFI.com
It is mostly just plumbing and fitting it all in. There are lots of good used turbo parts on ebay.
