Jacobs Boost Retard System.

Guys, just thought I'd share this one with those of you thinking of purchasing a boost retard system. I did some routine servicing yesterday prior to this weekend's race meet at Bug Jam, and decided to check my ignition timing at full advance (no boost) and full advance (full boost). I had last set/checked the timing advances probably more than six months ago, so this was well overdue. The original settings were 30 deg adv. (no boost) and 26 deg adv. (full boost) and to my surprise nothing had changed; the settings and operation were exactly as before. Bare in mind that my car has had six months of serious abuse...so there was a great possibility of something shifting. I have to say that the Jacobs system is a seriously good bit of kit and I am well pleased with the consistent results. For the money it is well worth contemplating...you even get a built in soft touch rev limiter!
I have upped the advance off boost to 34 deg and response seems even better. There is no sign of increase in temps etc. No pinking/detonation either.
