VW G-charger, anybody tried this yet?

With Turbo and Super charging you can create massive horsepower with vw motors.

VW G-charger, anybody tried this yet?

Post by 74Super »

Has anybody here tried, or know someone who has tried using the VW "G-ladder"(?) Supercharger like a G-60 on an aircooled engine?

I may be able to lay my hands on one on these very cheap, is it worth exploring?

Thanks,
Doug

Hi
I have heard negative reports about these units. Try asking about them on a watercooled VW forum.

I've always read/heard that these units require constant rebuilding. Plus parts are becoming scarce and expensive.

The G-lader is an ineffecient design, thats why a lot of the G-60 guys are converting to turbo.I heard somewhere something like 30-50 hp(?)to turn the thing.Plus, everybody i have known with a g-60 (i also worked at a VW dealer,a good few came in blown too.)has had one explode (literally blowing a hole through the case). You couldnt give me one!!
